The video “The Scientific Power of Meditation” speaks
form a scientific perspective. Answer the question, how does meditation affect your body?
It’s notes that when a person meditates, their brain shows
less anxiety and depression and more tolerance for pain. Meditation also increases memory, Self – awareness and goal setting.
When comparing the brains of Buddhist Monks and new
meditators, higher levels of alpha wave levels are shown in the monks, this is
related to less negative feelings, tension, sadness and anger.
In addition to other benefits, meditation is related
to the more presence of gray matter in the areas of the brain in relation to
learning, memory and emotional regulation. Meditation generates changes in the
Amygdala, this is reflected in less stress and fear.
People who meditate produce more antibodies and have
greater immune function. At the cellular level, meditation also has many
benefits, especially related to Cancer and Diabetes. Finally, the video says
that meditation is not a substitute for medical indications. The video
invites brain
works with meditation.
I think the video is very interesting. I honestly did
not think that meditation had many benefits at the cerebral, physical and
emotional level. I believed that meditation was just a space for relaxation. Also,
I believed that it was only spiritual topic and it was not scientific. As well
as, I think the video is fun and the cartoons are beautiful and easy to understand.
Honestly, currently, I don’t meditate. I meditated in yoga classes that I practiced
many years ago. At that time, when I meditated, I was sleepy. I really didn't find
it useful. However, today I hear many people say that meditating is a benefit
for them.
During these days of quarantine, sometimes I feel
anxious and bored. Sometimes sad news
and loneliness generate negative feelings for me. Maybe, it would be useful for
me to meditate in this context.
Finally, English is a difficult subject for me. For
this reason, sometimes when start the English class I feel nervous. However,
the methodology of this class makes me feel good.

Hi!!!! I also think that meditation was good to be more calm, I wouldn't have thought it had so many benefits to the body, but I did't surprise me because I have always thought that the body and mind related. For me loneliness had made me feel really bad but these days I have been able to exercise again and I been feeling better, maybe you can try to exercise or do everyday something that you love. I also try to call my family and friends, it is good to talk to them and I feel accompanied. I hope that you feel better soon, this will end eventually :3
